2-Concentration:
*Tablet: Domperidone 10 mg / tablet
* Oral suspension: 1 mg / 1 ml

4-Indication:
*Acute nausea and vomiting caused by levodopa or bromocriptin administration in Parkinson’s disease.
*Gastro-esophageal reflux.
*Irritable bowel syndrome.
5-Side effect:
*it has been well tolerated in most patients
*neurological side effects
*dry mouth
*transient skin rash or itching
*headache
*thirst
*diarrhea
*very mild nervousness
*Dystonic reactions (rarely in adult and children)
6-Contraindication:

7-Precautions:
*should not be used whenever gastric motility might be dangerous e.g. (gastrointestinal hemorrhage – mechanical obstruction or perforation)
*It should not be used in patients with hepatic or renal impairment (specialy oral suspension as it contains propylene glycol)
*it should be used for 12 weeks only in patients with Parkinson’s disease
*it can cross the blood-brain barrier so there is risk of central effects so it should only be used in pakinsonian patients when safer anti-emetic measures have failed.
8-Dose:
*Tablets:
-For acute nausea and vomiting: 10 to 20 mg three times daily
-For reflux oesophagitis: 20 mg four times daily
-For reflux chronic gastritis: 30 mg four times daily
-For irritable bowel syndrome: 10 mg three times daily
-For patients with chronic postprandial dyspepsia: 10 mg three times daily 15 to 30 minutes before meals and at bed time if nessacary
- For peptic ulcer treatment: 20 mg three times daily before meals
*Oral suspension for children:
-chronic dyspepsia: 2.5 ml per 10 kg body weight three times daily before meals and one more at the evening if necessary ( if results are not satisfactory he dose should be doubled in children over two years of age )
-nausea and vomiting: 5 ml per 10 kg body weight three times daily before meals and before bed time
*rectal suppositories:
-Adult: 2 to 4 suppositories “adult” (60 mg) per day
-Over 2 years: 2 to 4 suppositories “children” (30 mg) per day
-Up to 2 years: 2 to 4 suppositories “babies” (10 mg) per day
